Who can I help today?

Snow 1 RGB meTp3lOHere’s a question that can take your family all through Advent . Each morning, as kids are pouring cereal and you’re making lunches, ask the question, “Who can you help today?” and see where the discussion leads. One family who started this practice said answers ranged from plans to walk the dog to a child’s promise to pray for world peace.

Amanda, the mother, said she loved the effect the daily question had on the family: “It got everyone focused on helping others and less on our own selfish needs.”

The question was taken from Growing Happy Kids by Maureen Healy (Health Communications)

By Annemarie Scobey, from the pages of At Home with Our FaithClaretian Publications’ print newsletter for parents on nurturing spirituality in the home.
